Welcome to the website of the Biodiversity Information Service for Powys and Brecon Beacons National Park (BIS). Through this website we aim to keep you up to date on the activities and work of BIS, including information on our services, data holdings, and eventually access to search the BIS database. It will act as local biological recording resource with news of local wildlife recording activities and linking to local and national recording websites. Please contact us if you have any comments or features you would like to see.

In 2010-11 BIS is celebrating its 10th Anniversary. In 2000 the founding partners signed the Memorandum of Agreement and BIS was set up as a not-for-profit limited company. In 2001 BIS had settled into its own offices and the staff began to populate the database.
